We have been catering for 100 + events and running our SmartCHEF programme for youth who graduate upon

completing their Black History Month catering for 100 people (with our support of course).

 

Work Experience, Volunteer roles and Apprenticeship will be running at the premises in addition to other premises planned

for December 2012 through to January 2013 and beyond.

Good Shepherd Youth Club Cake Decorating class went well.  5 hours of pure cake fun.  Making modelling paste, rolling fondant and adding decorations to cakes and then buttercream from scratch classes.  All remaining 16 cupcakes were covered and decorated by the youth and Pastor Christine.  It was enjoyed by all.  Next time AIRBRUSHING TECHNIQUES and cake decorating - The young men can't wait for this one!

An amazing month with a food demonstration in Brighton at the VegFest - Tropical Heaven was a 1 hr lime which went on for a further 45 minutes.  Vegetable pilau rice, lots of homemade pepper sauces and kuchela and Venezuelan dessert with Mauby punch and homemade Sorrel brought all attendees Tropical sunshine in a plate from countries around the caribbean:  Trinidad, Venezuela, Dominica, Guyana, Grenada, Jamaica and many more.

Vegan CHOCOLATE GANACHE cake baked, decorated and shared with friends.  Pictured just for our customers to decide just which parts of the design they would like on their cakes for Valentines.  Hand drawn wording and pink lustre dusted royal icing.  Blue Jubilee Rose included but saved as a keepsake.

 

Enjoyed by all.  Nice with cream when warmed slightly. mmmmmmm.

Crazy busy end of month making lots of christmas vegan caribbean fruitcake - italian grape juice soaked and lots of Christmas dinners cooked prepared and collected by our customers.

 

Especially EMPANADAS to order with customers preferred fillings BOTH sweet AND savoury.  A great end of year for all.  Stay blessed and enjoy 2012 when it comes to all my customers and friends who have helped to make Foodtruly Ltd possible.

Catering for 100+.  Caribbean cuisine using vegetarian speciality.  Rice n Peas included with Vegetable Pilau Trini-style, Veggie chicken and potatoe curry Trini-style - "Not everyone knows how to make a true curry, they make yellow stuff but not serious Trini curry the traditional indian way.  The real deal we were told, with a thumbs up from a born and bred Trini sister who is tiny but loves good food.  We also served our Meaty Meat-free pepper strips in a sauce and plain rice - cooked fresh of course on-site.

 

The comments were endless.  Other business owners were impressed, they commented also. 

 

It was especially clear how good the food was when the apple crumble cake and vegan custard was served.  Many came up for seconds and almost "ate their hands" (as told by our customers)....  a wonderful evening that was simply buzzing.

Live demonstrations at exhibition and freshly cooked food on-site, served and enjoyed by all.

 

Featuring our new rest of caribbean menu items empanadas and pastitisio from Cuba and Venezuela - The Directors forefathers hometowns.  Both menu items just disappeared, we had to save 1 each for the workers.  All 4 were thoroughly fulfilled working with Foodtruly and our customers.

 

Our pastitisio feedback from one client was:  "... It was soooooooooooo nice, I almost ate my hands".  Result.  We are now adding it as a permanent option on our menu.  Pictures to be collated soon and uploaded.

Arrived only for the afternoon of an International Bazaar as our morning was spent at another job in Southend-on-Sea. 

 

If our last attendance at the same event in March was anything to go by (all stock sold within 1hr and 45 mins - no stock remained for the afternoon sales!), we had better improve on our last visit.

 

Well, as we arrived, the clients and other stall holders were just hovering and telling me to hurry up and show it all off.

 

Before 1 hour passed half of our cakes were gone!  Every last eggless chocolate cake was sold before the end of the exhibition.  Fruit cake squares were also evaporated into thin air. 

 

Oh well, next time we will bring them some caribbean-styled vegetarian food.  Cooked fresh.  Let's see what happens then :)

Foodtruly has a new range of Dessert Cakes for Wedding and Celebration designs only.  Using most of our flavours, they will be layered with either 1 or 2 of the following:

 

 - vegan chocolate ganache and real strawberrys
 - natural vanilla seeds vegan buttercream

 - mango vegan buttercream

 - coconut vegan buttercream
 - mint choc chip buttercream (not vegan)
 - mint and cacoa vegan buttercream
 - orange vegan buttercream
 - double chocolate ganache swirl (plain and white)
